Food and Farming




In developing countries the majority of those in poverty live in rural areas and supporting rural livelihoods, sustainable agriculture, natural resources management and economy is critical for pro-poor development. The challenges presented by globalisation and changes in food value chains require action both in the UK and in developing countries if farmers are to be able to maintain and improve their livelihoods.

The focus of the work will vary often drawing on some, or all aspects of social, natural and physical sciences. Here are some examples of current or recent projects.
