Aims

The aim of this course is to develop students' awareness of their skills, knowledge and personal qualities in preparation for seeking appropriate graduate employment. This course will prepare students for their responsibilities and rights within the workplace, and increase students' employability by developing their interpersonal and communication skills. The course also endeavours to develop skills for life-long learning and a commitment to continuing professional development.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course a student will be able to:
1 Identify their own skill sets and motivations for employability
2 Apply their skills, knowledge and attributes during learning activities in order to gain
experience of the job search process and the employment setting
3 Take ownership of their own career development on a lifelong basis

Outline Details - The portfolio will consist of both summative and formative components.
The summative components will cover, a) Personal development plan and b) Professionalism. 3000 words.
