Aims

This course aims to introduce students to the interconnected nature of the tourism, hospitality and events industries, with a focus on London. Students will develop their knowledge of the structure of the three industries through the study of typologies and case studies. An emphasis will be placed on understanding how businesses in these industries are linked formally through integration strategies and informally through supply chains and consumer consumption. The course will make use of recent scholarship in this area, as well as drawing on examples from the internationally significant tourism, hospitality and events industries in London.

On successful completion of this course a student will be able to:

Teaching and learning activity

A group presentation in which students describe the roles of the tourism, hospitality and events industries in London and discuss the connections between them.
