Aims

• Extend the learning from Professional Skills 2 and to integrate the content of courses from level 5 and level 6:
o Sustainable Construction II
o Engineering and Management in Design and Construction
o Construction Contract Administration
o Integrated Management
o Construction Economics and Law
• enhance skills of analysis, critical evaluation, synthesis and contextualisation of material from a variety of sources;
• further extend professional communication and presentation skills; oral, drawn and written;
• further develop reflective management skills;
• develop deeper understanding of the potential of CAD / BIM applications and processes.
• develop deeper understanding of sustainability through the application of a project

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course a student will be able to:

1. Investigate and critically appraise, evaluate and synthesise information from a variety of sources

2. Reflect upon and contextualise knowledge from other level 5 and 6 courses

3. Demonstrate and justify developed solutions effectively orally, graphically and in writing

4. Further understand the potential of CAD/BIM applications and processes

5. Further understand the application of sustainability on a design project

6. Evaluate aspects of sustainability on a design project

Indicative content

• A single longitudinal project or two integrative projects requiring the contextualisation of knowledge gained from level 5 and 6 courses and other reference sources where appropriate;
• personal skills development tutorials and workshops.
