To examine the corporate context in which investment and financing decisions are taken.
To enable participants to apply strategic management thinking to corporate real estate institutions.
To introduce and apply key financial theories and practice in the corporate context.

Learning outcomes

On completing this course successfully you will be able to:

Review and evaluate the wider corporate context in which key management and financing decisions are made.
Critically examine approaches to strategic management and finance and the corporate context in which they operate.
Appreciate and reflect on the application of strategic management and finance theories in the corporate context.

Indicative content

Corporate and economic context of owning and managing real estate.
Introduction to corporate strategy and the global context of operation.
Strategic Asset Management theory and practice and performance measurement including sustainability.
Financial theory.
The structure of finance.
Financial markets and institutions.
Direct and indirect investment vehicles.
