Clearing team helping would-be students find degree placesClearing experts at the University of Greenwich will be helping higher education hopefuls find a degree course throughout the weekend and beyond.

The Clearing hotlines on 0208 331 9000 are open from 8am to 6pm on Saturday (20 August), from 10am to 3pm on Sunday (21 August), and from 8.30am to 6pm on Monday (22 August).

From next Tuesday (23 August), the team will be on the phones on weekdays from 9am to 5pm.

The Clearing team is able to advise would-be students on the full range of course places still available for this autumn. These include the university's new extended degree courses, which run for four years and include a foundation year.

Extended degrees are specifically designed with flexible admission criteria for high-quality applicants who have not achieved the UCAS points to go straight into a full BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) degree. They are also ideal for people who have changed their mind about the subject they want to study at university and currently do not have the full range of A-levels required.

On A-level results day, the Clearing team took more than 4,250 calls from course seekers and worked with more than 900 potential applicants who were using the university's Live Chat service.

Tours of the university's three campuses, at Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway, are available and all potential applicants are advised to visit and see the many facilities available. Each tour is led by a current student able to give personal insights into university life. Book a campus tour at
