Big Picture - Nick Goodwyn, 23 Nov 2016Achieving excellence and maximising business performance are among the topics of a public lecture taking place at the University of Greenwich on 23 November.

Nick Goodwyn, a squadron leader, and safety and airspace regulator, will give a talk entitled Raising the Bar – Developing Human Performance for Excellence. The event is open to all, with registration details below.

"Developing elite human performance in individuals and teams has long been a key part of the training of military pilots and aircrew instructors, and the same principles can be can be equally dynamic when applied to business leadership, management and the commercial sector," he says.

In his talk, he will discuss how to realise the potential of people and organisations through coaching and training, and explore themes of motivation, attitude, belief, commitment, self-confidence and resilience.

Nick Goodwyn's career as a military and civilian fast jet pilot, instructor and examiner spans more than three decades. A qualified aircrew, executive and business performance coach, he has also been assisting in PhD research into future commercial aviation training and safety metrics with two universities.

Run by the university's Business School, the popular Big Picture seminar series gives high-profile speakers a chance to share their expert insights. Subjects include entrepreneurship, leadership and management, the economy and the media.

The event takes place at the Greenwich Campus from 5pm. Questions will follow the main talk.
