choir Christmas concertThere will be a multinational flavour to next month's University of Greenwich carol service, which takes place in the splendour of the Old Royal Naval College Chapel.

As well as familiar classics such as Away in a Manger, the free show on Tuesday 6 December will include songs from around the world. These will include Carol of the Bells from the Ukraine and the American gospel hymn Jesus, the Light of the World.

The university choir's Musical Director, Nick Jenkins, says: "This concert is always a very special event in the university calendar, featuring Christmas readings led by the Chaplaincy, and carols led by the choir.

"Songs will include Hark the Herald Angels Sing, O Little Town of Bethlehem, While Shepherds Watched their Flocks and more."

Doors open at 7pm and seating is unreserved, so early arrival is advised. The service begins at 7.30pm and will finish at around 8.45pm, after which drinks will be served in the Queen Mary Undercroft.
