ClearingUniversity of Greenwich telephone lines will be open from 6am on Thursday 17 August, ready to take calls from students wanting to make a Clearing application.

The university's team of expert Clearing advisers is expecting hundreds of calls each hour during results day, as students look for places on degree courses starting this autumn.

Clearing experts will also be helping course seekers find their perfect degree place via the website's Live Chat service. This popular service is also available from 6am on results day.

While the Hotline and LiveChat services are already in full operation, the early start on A-level results day will enable the university to help and advise as many students as possible at this crucial time.

Clearing is an opportunity for students whose grades may not be quite as they expected, have changed their minds about their career plans, or decided to apply after main cycle deadlines.

"Clearing can be an anxious time but there is no need to panic," says Gemma Aggett, the university's UK Student Recruitment Manager. "We can offer all the expertise needed to take the stress out of the situation.

"Before you pick up the phone, make sure you have your ten-digit UCAS number, your results and a list of any questions you have about the university or the course vacancy you are interested in. You'll also need a pen and paper handy to take notes."

Students can contact the university's Clearing advisers in various ways. They can call 020 8331 9000, email or take advantage of Live Chat.
