AccommodationEvery student joining the University of Greenwich through Clearing is guaranteed somewhere to live.

There are around 2,400 spaces on or near the university's campuses, putting new starters right in the heart of things.

To take advantage, students' applications must be received by Thursday 24 August.

Robert Mayor, the university's Director of Communications & Recruitment, says: "Life in our university halls and flats can be very social, with lots of opportunities to meet new people and make lifelong friends."

Places in halls and student flats include utility bills and contents insurance and come with free Internet and Wi-Fi. Most of the university's accommodation has 24-hour security and support staff, who are available seven days a week.

The Avery Hill Campus has a popular Student Village with a range of excellent teaching, living and sporting facilities. This is where the majority of students studying at the Avery Hill and Greenwich campuses, who apply through Clearing, are housed.

Mr Mayor adds: "More than half of those living at the Avery Hill Student Village study at our Greenwich Campus, and there's a free intercampus bus between the two sites during the week. With a lively campus vibe, and central London just 20 minutes away by train, Avery Hill gives you the best of both worlds.

"Our Medway Campus accommodation is a few minutes' walk from lecture theatres and labs. Just next to the halls is the new Student Hub and across the road from the campus there is a nine-screen cinema as well as bars, restaurants and shops."

The Clearing Hotline – 020 8331 9000 – opened at 6am today (Thursday 17 August), and has been taking hundreds of calls each hour. The LiveChat service is also proving extremely popular: course seekers can make instant contact with the expert Greenwich team, type in their questions about courses and even apply online.

The Clearing pages on the university website are also packed with all the information needed to help applicants make the right choices and to secure a university place.

Clearing will also be in full operation this weekend, with Hotline and LiveChat services available.
