The clearing lines have been ringing off the hook at the University of Greenwich this morning, with staff helping students find their perfect course on results day.

Charlotte Nickson, 23, just confirmed her place to study Accounting and Financial Information Systems, following an early call to the clearing hotline.

She said: "I spent time in hospital during the exam period, so I knew I'd probably need to go through clearing. It was a bit scary, but everyone's been really lovely and supportive."

Charlotte, who is registered legally blind, will be bringing her guide dog Layla to university in September.

She said: "When I went to the Greenwich Open Day in June I spoke to Student Support Services and said I'd need some extra help. They arranged to meet with me to see what I'd need.

"The Student Support Team were absolutely amazing – even before my place was confirmed, they made sure that everything was in place."

Charlotte will be travelling to the Greenwich campus from her home in Canary Wharf and is excited about starting her new course.

She said: "I'm looking forward to everything! From the work itself to meeting lots of new people and trying our new things, such as the societies and sports."

Clearing is still open at Greenwich Uni. Call 020 8331 9000, email or take part in a live chat.
