Collaboration Applied Sociology Research Group

A key strategy of the group is to promote knowledge exchange through close partnerships and collaborations with a diverse of policy and practice agencies, in order that relevant research is applied to a range of social contexts.

Collaborations and partnerships include service users, Third Sector/Charitable sector, community organisations; NGOs, government departments, advocacy groups, national and international organisations.

The Applied Sociology Research Group have established partnerships and collaborations with other University research centres/groups: Centre for Research in Employment and Work; Education Research Group; Greenwich Maritime Centre, Law and Criminology Research Group; Research centre for Schools, Children and Families.

The Group organises a variety of events including occasional conferences and regular seminars, research and training workshops. The Group also contributes to a number of major networks hosted within and by the University including:  Faculty of Architecture Computing and Humanities' Grand Challenge  (Futures and Sustainability and Social Capital); Equality Diversity Inclusion Strategy, Race Equality Charter Mark, Athena Swan.

Applied Sociology Research Group is part of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Greenwich.
