About us

The centre specialises in the application of computational and computer science, software engineering and artificial intelligence techniques to real-life industrial and commercial problems.

The groups within the centre have been active for more than 20 years and have undertaken projects in temporal representation and reasoning, middleware and autonomic computing, sensors, and smart embedded (sensor) systems, high performance computing, case-based reasoning, business intelligence, data mining, expert systems, genetic algorithms, knowledge management and reuse, etc.

The centre attracts substantial funding from EU and UK government departments and agencies and is currently involved in a number of large-scale industrial collaborations funded by the Technology Strategy Board (TBS).

In collaboration with the Centre for Numerical Modelling & Process Analysis, the centre works with a number of partners in industry.

Centre for Computer and Computational Science is part of the Faculty of Architecture, Computing & Humanities, University of Greenwich.
