Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) support UK businesses wanting to improve their competitiveness, productivity and performance by accessing the knowledge and expertise available within UK universities and colleges.

KTPs, launched in 1975 as the Teaching Companies Scheme (TCS), provide grants of up to 70% of the eligible project costs. In 2003 KTPs replaced the TCS and, since 2007, the programme has been managed by the Technology Strategy Board.

Anyone can start a KTP programme within the university. Contact Linda Hyder at for more information on this scheme.
