About us Centre for Spatial Informatics at Greenwich (CSIG)

The Greenwich GIScience Research Group (g3) was formed in 2012 with the arrival of Mike Worboys as newly appointed Professor of Spatial Informatics.

The focus of our work is robust and human-centred computation with uncertain spatial and spatiotemporal information, especially within the domains of mobile, location-aware and sensor-enabled environments.

Recent projects have involved models of navigation for indoor spaces, role of sketch maps as interfaces to spatial data, digital mapping for emergency management and location-aware sensor networks. We also work on the underlying theory of spatial informatics.

The core of the group is academic staff and students at Greenwich, and we have close ties with universities and industry world-wide.

Centre for Spatial Informatics at Greenwich (CSIG) is part of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Greenwich.
