Civil engineer. Good friend. Gamer.

I researched different universities and went to a lot of Open Days. Greenwich was the best – the enthusiasm of the teachers and the workshops with all the equipment available really impressed me. So far, I've enjoyed every moment.

From my initial research at college, I set my mind on doing civil engineering. The first year here also covers other aspects of engineering such as mechanical and computing engineering. I've enjoyed doing those, but the experience has helped confirm civil engineering is the right career for me.

We get e-mailed internship and placement opportunities. I'm hoping to get a placement year with a construction company.

We have quite a mix of different nationalities here at the Medway Campus. It's good to meet people from other cultures and find out what they have been doing before they came to university.

I started in university accommodation on campus at Medway. The rooms are a decent size. You get an en-suite and share a kitchen with six people. You're like a small family. Being on campus means you can get to your lessons really early. It's also easy to get to the library which is really good. I go there a lot to study.

There are lots of societies going on. I joined badminton and a gaming group. They've been good. And students come to your accommodation and let you know all the activities that are going on.

I've made friends with people on my programme, in societies and in the general university social life.
