BetterPoints: Rewarding walking and cycling at all our campuses Articles

By tracking your journeys using the BetterPoints app (download from Google Play or the App store using code GREEN17) you can earn points for shopping vouchers in participating shops or cafes, or you can use them to donate to charity.
Read here for details about the programme and what you can earn, or download the app and go to the 'Earn' tab.

Simon Earp, the university's Transport and Green Travel Manager said:

'We were approached by Royal Borough of Greenwich to see if we would be interested in trialling the scheme for them in Greenwich as part of their Low Emission Neighbourhood initiative to understand if it can influence how people travel. We have wanted a reliable way of rewarding students and staff who walk or cycle to campus and the BetterPoints app seemed like the perfect solution for this. Although the council initiative is in Greenwich we are using our car park revenue to extend the scheme across the whole university community so that we can reward walking, cycling and running at all our campuses.'

You'll start to see more about this scheme on our campuses over the next few weeks, and we're really keen to hear your feedback at
