"Greenwich has registered a significant increases in the proportion of students achieving good degrees and going on to graduate-level employment over the past four years. A near-trebling of the number of undergraduates taking work placements has helped, but the university remains stubbornly outside the top 100 overall.  Nevertheless, it was in the silver category in the new Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), which takes account of the student profile in determining grades. Greenwich is one of the most socially diverse universities in the country. Only five others take a higher proportion of undergraduates from the four poorest groups, while half come from ethnic minorities and 52% are older than 21 when they start degrees.

"The TEF panel praised course design and assessment practices that stretch students and ensure most make progress with their studies. It found that personalised provision secures good engagement and commitment to learning from most students, and that the university had invested in high-quality physical and digital resources to enhance learning."

The guide also noted that:

  • We are developing our Dreadnought building to become a "central hub that will contain learning, recreational and office space" on the Greenwich campus.
  • Our "£18m annual income from research and consultancy is among the largest proportion of any post-1992 university."
  • "Record numbers are engaging with sports clubs and societies" following investment to improve our sports facilities at Avery Hill campus.
