There’s a range of events happening across Greenwich for LGBT History Month and we’re showing our support by flying the rainbow flag at our Greenwich and Medway campuses to mark the occasion.

With today officially marking the beginning of LGBT History Month we've raised the rainbow flag at our Medway and Greenwich sites. You can see a picture both flags flying below:

The LGBTQ+ Society is celebrating the month in style, with a night at the Lower Deck on 8 February and an LGBTQ+ themed quiz on 12 February. There will also be a trip to National Student Pride in Westminster on 23 February. For more details on any of these events you can visit their Facebook Page.

The society are also organising an LGBTQ+ portraits series, based on our Greenwich Portraits, which will celebrate LGBTQ+ students and staff talking about what being LGBTQ+ means to them. If you'd like to get involved  - with a picture and a short piece about why you're proud to identify as LGBTQ+, what it means to you, what barriers you may face and how you overcome them, then please contact Ryan.

For any football fans, 9 February marks Charlton Athletic's "Football v Homophobia" match at The Valley and they're offering discounted tickets for students. More information can be found on the Charlton website and details of how to buy tickets can be found at the event page.

The National Maritime Museum are running their own series of events celebrating LGBT history, including "OUTing the Past", a series of talks on all aspects of LGBT history. More information can be found on the event page.

With so much going on, there really is something for everyone, so get involved. have fun and remember this year's official theme of Peace, Activism and Reconciliation.
