My University, My Voice: An update

TLDRoffon

The priority of our action plan is the mental health and wellbeing of our university community to ensure we all feel protected and supported.

Our plans were to communicate the university-wide action plan in April, following the staff survey which took place in November 2019, and after sharing the results in January this year.  However, following our move to virtual campuses in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the priority for our action plan is the mental health and wellbeing of our staff and students to ensure we all feel protected supported.

There are several activities that support the wellbeing of staff which are either being developed or are being embedded further:

  • The Wellbeing Hub is regularly updated with useful articles on maintaining positive mental health and wellbeing.
  • University-wide, we have a Wellbeing Champions Network who can support staff in their faculties and directorates with hints, tips and ideas during this difficult period.
  • We will continue to use Internal News to share regular communications on wellbeing and we will encourage Yammer groups and communities to develop.

We plan to focus on embedding business continuity activities and continuous improvements for progressing the One University programme, with an emphasis on the Digital Strategy and using technology effectively whilst working remotely.  To support this, the migration schedule for greater functionality of Office 365 has been accelerated to provide you with a better and more integrated digital experience with increased functionality.

Support will be provided to staff to enhance their digital capabilities with the new technology with ILS and Greenwich Learning and Teaching (GLT) working together to support academic colleagues using the technology with their pedagogy.  For wider support, the Library and IT Support Assistants will be providing Teams help for staff and students as the new Teams Support team.

As further activities are developed, we will continue to share these with you.  If you have any questions about these activities, please contact Anna Radley.
