UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) require us to develop, document and apply a Code of Practice (CoP) to ensure quality and fairness for staff, which must be submitted to the REF team on or before 7 June 2019. The Research Excellence Framework 2021 Equality and Diversity Advisory Panel (EDAP) will examine all CoPs prior to the submission deadline.
The main purpose of the CoP is to identify staff with "significant responsibility for research", those that possess research independence and the process of selecting outputs. The CoP must also detail the procedure by which these decisions may be challenged.
We have arranged a series of staff events, taking place between 5-26 March - see details of remaining sessions below - which we encourage you to attend.
We're also using the Ideas Centre, and plan to keep this open until 28 March, to offer staff the opportunity to express their views on the context and development of the CoP.
You can see more about our preparations for REF2021 and read the Draft REF2021 Code of Practice on our web pages (login required).
