We have introduced new guidance and procedures for the recruitment of permanent and fixed-term academic staff to teaching only and research only posts.

The new approach, which is part of our continuing work on our Academic Framework, is aligned to our Career Pathways, has been introduced to:

  • Ensure all academic staff recruitment activity supports the university's strategy and corporate plan, as well as its academic and business strategies
  • Attract high quality staff working at the cutting edge of their field of expertise
  • Ensure the university becomes an employer of choice
  • Ensure we consistently and proactively use fair and effective recruitment and selection processes to meet business needs and in our advertising, to promote inclusivity in a consistent manner across the institution.
