UCAS exhibitions at Medway and Greenwich campuses 20-21 June Articles

We are hosting two UCAS exhibitions this month on our Medway and Greenwich campuses as below:

Kent and Medway UCAS exhibitionTuesday 20 JuneMedway campus
South London UCAS exhibitionWednesday 21 JuneGreenwich campus

The events are designed to provide impartial advice on university choices to 2018/19 students, but they are also great opportunities for prospective local students to see our facilities first-hand.  Visiting schools and colleges are allocated a two hour slot to be the exhibition between 9.30 and 15.30 when the events are open.

We're expecting each event to attract around 5,000 people per day, so that means our campuses will be busy, so  if you see people on campus looking for the exhibition please point them in the right direction. Due to the numbers of young people on campus, the exhibition areas will be highly controlled with limited access to non-exhibition staff and visitors. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Although we will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum, we do need to make some changes to existing arrangements:

Medway campus, 20 June

  • The exhibition will be based in the Pilkington Building with a marquee on the Drill Hall Library car park.
  • There will be no parking available on the lower site: Drill Hall Library or Jellicoe, and no parking on the upper site along Central Avenue and Upper East Road.  This means parking space will be considerably reduced and shared with Drill Hall Library permit holders and some UCAS related traffic.
  • Parking will operate on a first come first served basis and where possible we would appreciate if people could make alternative arrangements to bringing a car on to campus for this day.
  • Additional parking spaces will be available, without charge, in the Historic Dockyard and you will need to show your University of Greenwich staff pass to access this.
  • The Pembroke café will not be used, nor are there plans to use any of the rooms on the upper site in the University of Greenwich buildings.

Greenwich campus, 21 June

  • The exhibition will be based on King Charles Lawn.
  • The West Gate will be closed as a security precaution; this has been agreed in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police. There will be pedestrian access but no vehicle access.
  • The Queen Mary café will be busy all day.
  • Parking availability will not be severely affected.

If you have any questions about these events, please contact the Education Support Unit on esu@gre.ac.uk or 0208 331 9127.
