Accepted a place at the University of Greenwich through Clearing? Don’t forget to update your student finance application and see what else could be on offer.

Student Finance England (SFE) arranges your tuition fee loan and maintenance loan.

You should have applied to SFE for student finance before the start of Clearing.

If you accept a place at the University of Greenwich through Clearing, you must update your SFE application. If you don't, SFE will be unable to notify us that you are receiving financial support. This will delay your maintenance loan.

You may have originally applied for a university outside London. If you now wish to be based at one of our London campuses (Greenwich or Avery Hill), you must inform SFE. You will be reassessed and may be entitled to more money.

Whether you've applied through Clearing or earlier in the year, please ensure you've signed and returned the student loan declaration. Without it, you will not receive support.

If you've got a place at university through Clearing or Adjustment and haven't applied for student finance yet, please apply right away. SFE will carry out an initial assessment so you have some money as close to the start of your programme as possible, but applications can take six weeks to process.

Scholarships and bursaries

You may be eligible for one of our scholarships or bursaries. These include the High Achievement Scholarship, which is awarded to students with outstanding A-level results. This award is:

  • A mark of how much we value you and your achievements
  • A way of easing your financial pressures
  • A motivator for you to do well throughout your studies, as the award will depend on your marks each year.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a UK or EU student with ABB or higher at A-level. Certain equivalent qualifications are also accepted and additional requirements apply.

You will receive £2,000 for each year of study, for up to three years. To get the bursary in Years 2 and 3, you must complete 120 credits or more and gain an overall mark of 60% in the preceding year of study.

Our bursaries and scholarships page has information on other awards you might be eligible for.

''I was over the moon when I got the e-mail telling me I'd got the scholarship. I'd managed to budget for my student accommodation and weekly spending before I started at university, but this has really taken the pressure off having to find a part-time job straight away. Because the money for my second and third years will be linked to my marks, it's that extra little bit of encouragement to do well.''
