Christian joined Greenwich University in March 2015 after seven years of lecturing at the University of Worcester. Prior to returning to academia he had worked for a political think tank, served as government spokesperson and press secretary for a political party.

Member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs.

Christian is particularly interested in the history of political communication and propaganda as well as proto-PR. His research so far has addressed reputation management and strategy and he has been applying these concepts to enhance historical analysis. His work has cast light on new aspects in leadership communication and investigated argument hegemony in German national politics.
