Dr Tina Šegota joined University of Greenwich in December 2017 as a lecturer in Advertising and Marketing Communications. She completed her PhD in Marketing Communications at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, with a specific focus on the influence of advertising and self-congruity on tourism destination choice.

She is actively working towards completion of her PhD in Tourism at the University of Ljubljana, with a specific interest in modelling local residents' support for tourism in highly seasonal tourism destinations. 

Prior to joining the University of Greenwich, Tina was a young researcher and teaching assistant at the University of Ljubljana. Besides her work in academia, Tina had worked in the business for six years in roles such as PR account executive and director of marketing.

- Involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

- Dissertation supervisor and personal tutor. 

Dr Šegota is currently available for PhD supervision in the following areas:

- Destination Marketing/ Destination Advertising

- Consumer Behavior in Tourism

- Sustainable Tourism Development

- Film-induced Tourism

Tina has wide ranging research interests, including seasonality and sustainable tourism development, with a passionate focus on local residents. She is also interested in understanding this segment from a marketing perspective; more specifically, how residents participate in destination marketing activities.

She presented her research in prestigious international conferences and has published in leading academic journals. She acts as a reviewer for a number of academic journals including Journal of Destination Marketing and Management, International Journal of Tourism Cities, Journal of Hospitality Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Economic Research, among others. She also serves as a reviewer for international conferences including TTRA Europe, ANZMAC, ICORIA, among others.
