SPARK Mentoring is the one to one mentoring scheme supporting students of the Faculty of Engineering and Science. Industry mentors are matched with mentees for 4-6 months to improve their employability.

What is SPARK Mentoring?

The SPARK that ignites your career.

The scheme offers those working in industry the opportunity to become a mentor and pass on their experience and knowledge to the next generation of graduates.

For students who would like to become mentees, it is the chance to be paired with someone who can offer invaluable careers advice to help you achieve your goals.

What does the scheme involve?

  • Mentors and mentees will have a minimum of 2 hours contact time per month, across a 4-6 month period. This can be face to face, via email, Skype or phone call.
  • For mentees, full training is provided via a workshop.
  • For mentors, training is available via a workshop on campus or a remote resource pack.
  • All participants are invited to attend the celebration event in the summer at the Medway campus.

When are the SPARK cycles?

  • Cycle 1: November 2020 - March 2021
  • Cycle 2: February 2021- June 2021

We accept expressions of interest all year round.
