Swatee Patel is a Principal Lecturer for Statistics in the Department of Psychology, Social Work & Counselling at the University of Greenwich.

Swatee's area of specialism as lecturer, researcher and consultant is in medical statistics and epidemiology. She also supervises MSc and PhD research students.

She was one of the first lecturers to be awarded the outstanding achievement for teaching excellence. She won the contract for training graduates on the Government Statistical Service training scheme. 

Her medical statistical consultancy work has included collaborating with physicians at Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust, Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup, Kings College Hospital, Barnet and Case Farm Hospital, and Oxleas Foundation NHS Trust.

Swatee's research interests are epidemiological studies of asthma in children; medical statistics, surveys, and public health.
