Jane Wragg is a Senior Lecturer in Secondary Mathematics in the Department of Secondary Education, Lifelong Teacher Education and PE & Sport at the University of Greenwich.

Jane's background is in the finance industry, working as an internal Accountant and then running a payroll bureau, a role held for 18 years before training to become a teacher.

She worked in an all-boys school and became Acting Head of Department introducing Financial Mathematics at Key Stage 4 and 5 and spent a couple of years in alternative educational services, gaining a broader experience of teaching.

Jane joined the University of Greenwich in 2014 taking a lecturing and mentoring role trainee students.

Jane's teaching interests include Mathematics; Financial Mathematics; Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND); Heuristic Teaching; Engaging Parents; raising achievement of white working class boys; and how to build resilience in trainee teachers.

Jane's particular research interests include social capital and resistance building, looking at why 'white working class' boys are underachieving. Jane is also interested in how to build resilience in trainee teachers, heuristic teaching and teaching/planning lessons for SEND.
