Students will be examining evidence at the CSI Science Summer SchoolYoung people from across Medway, Kent and London keen to boost their career prospects are taking part in three free summer schools at the University of Greenwich.The challenges and potential pitfalls in solving a murder crime will face participants during a four-day CSI Science Summer School being held at the Medway Campus between Tuesday 30 June and Friday 3 July. The campus is home to the university's Faculty of Engineering & Science.

The CSI Science Summer School is designed for A-level and applied science courses students. They will gain hands-on experience of a range of scientific techniques in laboratory-based workshops, undertake library research and learn how to hone their presentation skills.

A dedicated Healthcare Summer School is running between Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9 July, at the university's Avery Hill Campus, for A-level and applied science courses students with an interest in health.

Lecturers from the university's Faculty of Education & Health, alongside visiting health experts and dieticians, will deliver challenging learning experiences, taking advantage of the numerous healthcare facilities on campus, to help students extend their knowledge and study skills.

This week, care leavers are spending three days at the university's Medway Campus to discover more about university life, attend workshops, take part in debates and develop personal and practical skills to stand them in good stead in higher education.

The busy programme of activities has been drawn up by the university working in partnership with Catch22, which specialises in services for care leavers, and Medway Multi Integrated Looked After Care Leavers Team (MILAC).Lunch and refreshments are provided at all three summer schools, which are non-residential.
