BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND following the recent success of the 2017 University of Greenwich Robot School Competition held at the Medway Campus. We are giving schools the opportunity to enter our competition to win the opportunity to build their own robot and go against other schools at the show in September 2018.

This year, our competition exceeded over 900 entries from Kent and South-East London schools. From the entries 22 schools were selected to compete on Thursday and Friday culminating in a sensational final on Sunday 24 September 2017. This year's winners, Hempstead Junior School, Gillingham. Extreme Robots has invited the finalists to take part in the live tour, together with the University robot (as seen on the BBC2 series) being held at Maidstone this month.

We are the only University in the UK to hold this event on campus, "It was four days of tremendous fun and dramatic battles in the arena," says Professor Simeon Keates, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Chatham Maritime, Kent.

Download the entry form now (see below) to enter the competition for 2018! It is recommended to send it in A3 format but A4 is accepted. The deadline for entries has been extended until 15 November 2017 due to the varying half term periods for schools. Post your entries to Lynn Wilson (Robot Wars), Engineering, University of Greenwich Chatham Maritime, Kent ME4 4TB or email to

If you are one of the lucky schools to be selected all you will need to do is enter a team (max of 6 members per team). We will provide motors, radio control systems, expert advice from University staff and access to University Workshops (if needed).

Good luck, we will be waiting for your entries!
