The students of the Medway Society of Biology showed true Greenwich Graduate Attributes by arranging a trip to the Kent Science Park. Organised by the President of the Society, Vicky Roberts, and secretary Hannah Luck, eleven students from all levels of the Life Science programmes and Dr Lauren Pecorino, who was invited to go along, were greeted by the Site Director, James Speck. They heard talks from business entrepreneurs in the biology and chemistry fields and had a tour of the facilities.

One of the speakers, Dr Giedre Brandao, Director of AbBaltis Ltd told students about her experience of starting the business in her home with nothing but a computer on her desk. She recently won the prestigious Queens Award for outstanding small businesses.The students discussed their interest in placement opportunities.

Lauren Pecorino, Programme Leader of the BSc Biological Science Programme, said the event will have an impact not only on the students who went along but also on future Greenwich Students who may benefit from placement opportunities initiated on the day.
