3MT 2021 Powerful Presentations Masterclass for participants | Online

This workshop will enable you to create and develop a 3 Minute Thesis style presentation. Learn to increase your personal capability with visual, vocal and verbal communication skills and confidently tell the story of your thesis in an engaging and impactful way.

Learn how to construct a presentation using 1 slide only and practise, film and improve through the application of performance techniques with an expert facilitator. 3MT competition rules will apply.

Aims and Objectives

On this half day session you will learn to:

  • Design and deliver a presentation and tailor the content to the 3MT competition rules
  • Learn how to structure a presentation for maximum impact
  • Understand the most effective use of slides and content
  • Identify qualities/behaviours of effective presenters and explain with clarity your role as the presenter
  • Build rapport with the audience
  • Over-come nerves and barriers
  • Analyse and critique your presentation taking feedback into account

This workshop will comprise of discussion, delivering presentations, filming on your personal device for your private critique and engaging with others to explore learning.

  • Focus on developing and drafting your narrative to suit your personal style
  • Improved understanding of the mechanics of presentations and behaviours
  • Practical knowledge of how the voice works and how to make messages stick
  • Strategies to build a presentation that is informative, compelling and impactful
  • Handle nerves
