Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies International

The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is a unique reference number that you will need when you make your Tier 4 (General) student visa application. The CAS is confirmation of your unconditional offer of a place to study with us. It will enable the Home Office to look up secure online information about your application to the university.  We will send you a CAS number once you have accepted an academically unconditional offer of place and have paid the minimum pre-registration deposit requirement. Please note that the CAS cannot be issued more than six months before the start date of your intended programme. The earliest that you can use your CAS to apply for your visa is three months before your programme begins.

We will email your CAS number to you in what we term a 'CAS Statement'. This CAS Statement also confirms all the personal and course information that the university has sent to the Home Office.

We would like you to receive your CAS number as quickly as possible so please contact the International Office as soon as you have paid the pre-registration deposit and your offer of place is academically unconditional.

You will receive a CAS checking sheet, which you must check, complete and return.  We will then be able to issue a CAS statement containing your CAS number.

January 2017 applicants must return their CAS checking sheet by 21 December 2016.

No CAS statements for the January 2017 intake will be issued after 23 December 2016.

These deadlines dates are set in order for you to be able to obtain your visa, and arrive to commence your programme on 9 January 2017.
