What's in an e-Portfolio? IT and Library Services

An e-Portfolio is an electronic tool that provides you with an online space to demonstrate your skills and achievements, by presenting digital assets that allow you to demonstrate your learning journey and goals and plans for the future. You can record and store evidence of your learning, and structure the information in different ways, for a variety of purposes.

A web-based portfolio will allow you to archive and display a wide range of your work using various types of media (text, MS Word, or PDF files), power point, web-links, audio, video, graphics and other multimedia. As a webfolio or CD, your e-Portfolio can be easily published, archived and shared with colleagues
There are tools within your PebblePad e-Portfolio which will help you to:

  • record skills, competencies or abilities that you already have
  • record experiences or events that you want to plan for
  • record specific achievements or accomplishments
  • record personal or professional experiences
  • record meetings with others e.g. for projects, mentoring, tutoring
  • think and reflect
  • collect records (assets) together to create an eportfolio presentation
  • create or store a CV
  • creating an online blog or diary
  • reflect upon your experiences

PebblePad contains a number of tools designed to guide you through the process of creating different types of records - this is described in detail in the PebblePad help pages.
