Aims
This module helps to grasp conceptual approaches to entrepreneurship and innovation process and how they are related to business growth, society and the economy. It explores the academic and practical links between entrepreneurship and innovation and its management implications. This module aims to provide a deep understanding of achieving business values through quality management as well as the techniques to enable implementation of policies focusing on customer experiences and continuous improvement via effective teams.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module a student will be able to:
1 Evaluate core conceptual frameworks to entrepreneurship and innovation.
2 Understand strategic quality management goals and structures.
3 Assess the effectiveness of coaching skills in creating an innovative organisation.
4 Evaluate the impact of sustainable entrepreneur approaches in managing customer experiences.
5 Analyse entrepreneurial ventures risks and conflicts.
Indicative content
Disruptive Business Models. Industry and Competitor Analysis. Innovation model and strategy. Qality management in product and service delivery. Customer needs. Building and coaching new venture teams. Entrepreneurial Marketing. Financing entrepreneurial ventures.
Teaching and learning activity
Six-week block teaching combined with Lectures, tutorials and workshops. Additional Extension Week and separate summative assessment week with complementary online guided reading support and assessment preparation. Contact time: 6 hours per week (in one day) classroom learning, 10 hours guided study in Extension Week, 10 hours assessment preparation.

Reflective Statement - 100%

Students to provide a written reflection on the process of pitching business idea and the prospect of future entrepreneurship.
Nature of FORMATIVE assessment supporting student learning:
Formative assessment – Pitching a business idea to investors (organised in but not limited to a Dragon's Den format) and responding to enquiries following the pitch. This serves as the basis of producing the reflective statement as the final coursework.
