The
life-changing research underway at the University of Greenwich was celebrated at the second annual Research and Enterprise Awards and Celebration
Day.
The event, held at the University's Medway campus, was attended by academics and researchers and once again included the popular poster competition, where a wide variety of research areas were displayed and judged.
There was a 3-minute thesis competition as well as presentations on issues ranging from raising awareness of county line drug networks to the design of extra-terrestrial structures.
Deputy Vice Chancellor, Javier Bonet, who presented the awards at the event, said: "It was great to see so many people at this event and a real chance to show how much the university values its researchers and their work.
"Through our research, we continue to explore a huge range of exciting and challenging issues in innovative ways, with a focus on finding solutions to real-world problems and ultimately to improving peoples' lives.
"Well done to all of our winners, but also to everyone who sent in their research for an award – we received a really high standard of submissions."
Winners on the day included:
- Prof Ed Galea for Career Research Excellence
- Prof Steve Kennedy and Wolfson Centre for Outstanding Achievement in Enterprise
- Dr Camille Stengel and Dr Nadia Benbouzid for the ECR Research Excellence Award.
There were also successes from each Faculty for the Postgraduate Research Poster Competition, Early Career Researcher poster competition, Inspiring Research and Outstanding Achievement in Research.
