David joined the University of Greenwich in 2016.  After Bachelors graduation David held a variety of posts at Imerys Minerals including statutory management appointments under the Mines and Quarries Act and later the quarries regulations, including Transport Manager with a CPC and also NVQ Assessor, Internal Verifier and Co-ordinator.

Between 2009 and 2014 David completed a PhD at Glasgow Caledonian University that looked at relationships between musculoskeletal and back problems associated with domestic wastes collection specifically within local authorities.

He previously worked for local authorities including Aylesbury Vale District Council from 2003 where he was responsible for Corporate Health and Safety, Emergency Planning and Business Continuity. He has also operated as a consultant for authorities in Glasgow, Oxford and Yorkshire and delivered Lectures at GCU London.
