Senior Lecturer

Dr. Mu Yang holds a BSc in Management Information Systems from Beijing Jiaotong University, China and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, UK. Before joining Greenwich, she worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, the Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research and the Open University on a number of ERC, EPSRC and H2020 research projects.

Her research interests are twofold:

  • privacy and cyber security. Mu has worked on anonymity networks, user privacy decision making, adaptive security for critical systems, blockchain-based information sharing and GDPR.
  • digital innovations. Mu has studied digital platforms for innovation management, entrepreneurship, new product development and customer/user interactions. Mu is also interested in digital economy and applying ML and deep learning in analysing user-generated unstructured content online.

Dr. Mu Yang has published in a number of journals including Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Product Economics, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, IEEE Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions of Engineering Management, Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. She also published in top Computer Science conferences such as ASE, AsiaCCS, ICDCS, CLOUD, SEAMS and ETAPS. She has received grants from EPSRC.
