Key details

Ms Asegul Hulus

Postgraduate Researcher (PhD) and teaching assistant

Asegul has been working in higher education since the age of 19, she starterd during her bachelor degree in English language teaching. Her career started in foundation studies, where she was teaching students academic English. At first, Asegul felt like a 'fish out of water', as her teacher training at the time was theory-based and not practical based. It was then during this experience she started to speculate how to help fellow teacher trainees. Asegul vowed to become a postgraduate researcher to be one drop in the ocean in education, helping teacher trainees to not feel lost as she did when they start to teach in whichever grade level they choose. Which leads to her scholarly interest to be primarily focused on teacher training courses and degrees within higher education. Currently, Asegul is working on the relationship between teacher trainees and the flipped classroom.
