Mr Emmanouil Kanellos BA, HEA , MA, MA

Programme Leader

Emmanouil Kanellos is the Programme Leader of Animation and Senior Lecturer in the School of Design, University of Greenwich.

Throughout the years Emmanouil Kanellos has worked as Art Director, Animator and CG Artist, collaborating with various design agencies in London, Athens, and Japan. His work has been featured in UK National TV and International channels. Current professional experience includes Technical Direction, working in advertising, promotional videos and video games. He directs and produces 3D mapping projection artworks across the UK in collaboration with a number of visual and sound artists. He is a PhD candidate with interest in Visual Music, Virtual Reality, 3D technology and he has presented his research in UK, Europe, and the USA.

Emmanouil is also a member of the editorial board in the 'Body, Space and Technology' (BST) journal , as well as a member of the International Scientific Committee in  Animation, Film, Interactive Media in Education and Culture (AFIMEC) journal.

He is the organiser of 'Movement Conference' – an annual event that invites academics, directors and artists from all around the world to discuss and showcase their work around the area of VFX, CGI, VR and Animation.
