What will happen at the selection day?

Successful applicants will be invited to attend an individual interview at our Avery Hill Campus. On arrival please make your way to:

The event will consist of a face-to-face interview with our academic team, which could include a clinical practitioner or a service user. The interview will include a number of short questions to demonstrate motivation, achievements, transferable skills and knowledge for the course. 

There may be opportunities to have a campus and accommodation tour to see our facilities, this will be confirmed on your arrival.

How to prepare for the selection day

To prepare for the interview, take some time to research current writing on the subject. A good place to start is the Nursing and Midwifery Council website.

What to bring to the selection day

  • Identification
  • Evidence of change of name (e.g. marriage certificate or deed poll) if applicable
  • Educational certificates
  • Passport size photograph (for your application record)
  • Your letter of invitation

Types of identification accepted

Please bring one of any of the following forms of ID. When presenting an ID document, it must be the original, valid, in date and in the legal name of the applicant attending the interview.

Student Type Acceptable forms of identity
Home Applicants (UK born) Current valid passport OR UK driving licence (photo card style only)
Home Applicants (non-UK born) Current valid passport OR "Travel Document" both with any relevant immigration document (e.g. indefinite leave to remain BRP)
EU Applicants Current valid passport OR EU identity card
International Applicants (Non-EU) Current valid passport AND Current Visa

In attempting to ensure an applicant meets the relevant professional requirements of the course and enable us to process any potential offer given, the University of Greenwich will employ the use of technology to verify the authenticity of valid ID documents. The document will be scanned, an authentication check will be conducted and then stored against the applicant's record; held in accordance with the appropriate retention period.

Please Note: If you arrive at an incorrect campus, you can use our inter-campus bus to travel to the correct campus for your interview. You will need to make sure you have your email invitation available in order to use this service. Please refer to our bus service here.

What to do if you are going to be late

If, on your selection day you are going to be late, please do contact our School Office Reception, Mary Seacole on 02083319406 and they will inform your interview panel and advise if you need to reschedule.
