    Erasmus+ and Study Abroad (outgoing)
This fee is only applicable if participation is over 24 weeks per year in duration
    £1,385

Students beginning their degrees from 1st September 2012, who are assessed as Home/EU for fee purposes, who participate in Erasmus+ or Study Abroad for 24 weeks or more in a single academic year are required to pay £1,385 for that academic year.

If you participate in an Erasmus+/ Study Abroad placement for less than 24 weeks in a single academic year you will be required to pay the usual rate of tuition fee for your programme of study as detailed in the tables here, for example the fee would be £9,250 for students undertaking honours degrees. (Please also see notes below.)

Please note

The rates above, applicable to continuing students, are subject to ratification at Finance Committee.

The university reserves the right to charge for any additional courses or credits and amend the fee due where necessary after you have completed online registration. Important information on tuition fee charging and tuition fee rates is available at the bottom of this page.

  • All full-time fees quoted are based on a standard 120-credit programme of study, unless stated otherwise.
  • For full-time undergraduates, the fees shown are the current annual fee unless otherwise stated.
  • The part-time fees above only apply to students assessed to pay tuition fees at the Home and EU rate. For part-time students the maximum number of credits that can be studied in an academic year is 90.
  • All Fees above are subject to an annual fee setting exercise and will rise annually in line with the RPI-X (Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments) subject to the maximum regulated fee rates set by the UK Government. For example if a student was paying a fee of £5,000 in 2016/17 and RPI –X was 2.8% this fee would have risen by 2.8% to £5,140 in 2017-18. This does not apply to students studying in the Medway School of Pharmacy, see below.
  • For Home and EU undergraduate students in the Medway School of Pharmacy assessed as paying fees at the home rate, tuition fees are subject to an annual fee setting exercise and will rise annually by no more than RPI +3% except where regulated. Where fees are regulated (such as by the Department for Education or Research Council UK) they will be increased by an amount up to the permitted increase. The Government have not yet confirmed the permitted fee increase for 2018/19 UK/EU fee paying undergraduates.
  • A significant number of our undergraduate programmes for Home/EU students are charged at the current maximum allowed fee of £9,250 and thus there will be no increase for continuing students if this maximum rate continues at this level. We would only consider an increase to the fee rate for new and continuing students if the government were to make changes to increase the maximum variable fee rate above the current £9,250.
  • We would only consider an increase to the fee rate for continuing students to reflect the increased cost of delivering the programme in subsequent years.
  • Fees above are subject to the university's Charging and Refund Policy.
  • Students categorised as studying for an equivalent or lower qualification (ELQ) may be charged a tuition fee rate that is higher than the standard published rates.*
  • Students who are assessed as International fee payers undertaking Erasmus+ or Study Abroad are not eligible for a tuition fee reduction and will pay the usual rate of fee for their programme of study. Further information on Erasmus+ and Study Abroad is available on our Erasmus+ information for outgoing students.
  • These fees are for students beginning their course in 2018-2019. Fees for students who began their course in 2017-2018 are available here.
