Victoria Lionel was inspired by criminal investigation series like CSI and Criminal Minds to come to the UK and explore a career in forensics.

Our courses

We offer a number of ways to study forensic science. You can undertake a full-time three-year degree or choose a sandwich course with a placement year. If you don’t meet the entry requirements for a three-year course, you can apply for an extended degree with an added foundation year.

Research and partnerships

Our academic team is currently researching in the fields of entomology, fingerprints, bacteriology and anthropology. Future research will explore the prevention of cybercrime and the examination of crime scenes set up following alleged sexual offences.

The calorific snacks are an excellent accelerant for fires, our tests show, setting a car seat on fire within around three minutes.

Join us as a research student

Graduates from our undergraduate forensic science courses can move on to our MRes degree. Normally, you will need a 2.1 or First. If you have a suitable research proposal in forensic science, we can help you apply to the university and find the appropriate supervisor.
