Pre and co requisites



To provide students with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a wide range of project planning and management techniques and how they apply in the context of professional approaches to computer, information and communication projects.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module a student will be able to:
1 Demonstrate understanding of and apply project management techniques in a diversity of computer, information and communication contexts.
2 Identify and critically discuss risk applicable to projects within the context.

Indicative content

Project management; stakeholders, requirements, scope, constraints, resources, planning, tasks, deliverables, scheduling, critical path (activity on node, activity on arrow), review, risk evaluation as well as mitigation. The law, in the context of social, ethical and professional issues and considerations. Legal statutes specific to ICT, e.g. Data Protection, Computer Misuse. Standards and Frameworks for Project Planning and Management.
