Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this module a student will be able to:

1. Understand and evaluate current job market trends for placements/graduate roles in the context of their own career intentions.
2. Apply recruitment and selection processes most commonly used by employers (including online tools), relative to current and future labour market conditions, as well as employ and assess job search techniques including CV formulation.
3. Critically assess a range of profiling techniques to increase self-awareness as well as create a unique, value-added personal brand statement and market this to potential employees in the graduate marketplace.
4. Understand relationship management approaches including the cultivation and maintenance of formal and informal relationships within and outside the university, and the role of values and motivations as part of this.
