Dr Ryan Essex
Research Fellow
Ryan has been a Research Fellow with the University of Greenwich since December 2019.
He is most broadly interested in bioethics, public health ethics and refugee/migrant health. He has a particular interest in how the healthcare community positions itself in the face on injustice and utilises extra-institutional political channels to pursue change. Ryan is also interested in how theory and frameworks from other disciplines can be utilised to facilitate clinical decision making within clinical/medical ethics. In addition to this he haa an interest in refugee and migrant health, particularly how this relates to justice and the ethical questions this raises.

Ryan is presently a Research Fellow with the Centres for Professional Workforce Development and Chronic Illness and Ageing within The Institute for Lifecourse Development
