We welcome applications from students wishing to transfer onto a University of Greenwich course from another institution.
The below outlines what to do if you want to transfer to Greenwich from another higher education provider or transfer between courses at the University of Greenwich.
Please use our guidance below, to find out more about student transfers. This will help you if you wish to:
- Transfer to the University of Greenwich from another higher education provider
- Transfer from the University of Greenwich to another higher education provider
- Transfer from one University of Greenwich course to another
There may be some courses where we are unable to accept applications from students transferring from another institution. Please get in touch and we will advise you if this is the case.
Please note that there may be implications for you in transferring between institutions, for example, you may be liable to pay the tuition fees at your current institution. If you need a Student Visa, you may need to make a new visa application in order to transfer. We advise you speak to your current institution as they may be able to offer support.

What are the entry criteria for transfer students?
Typically, we expect students to have an average of a 2:2 in their first year/two years of study at another institution and to have studied the same or similar modules to the course they are applying to. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the modules studied and grades achieved.
We recommend submitting an application, with copies of your transcripts, for the Admissions team to review and confirm if you are eligible.
For further guidance please contact our Admissions team via our Enquiry Form or telephone 020 8331 9000.
Am I eligible for financial support?
If you are looking to transfer from another institution, you should check the financial support available to you.
For further information please see our advice on Fees and Funding.
I want to use credits awarded by another higher education provider towards the entry requirements of a degree
Recognition of Prior Learning allows you to use your existing qualifications and experience towards the entry requirements of a degree or to exempt you from modules that overlap closely with your existing awards.
See our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy for more information.
Am I eligible for any course accreditation(s)?
We’re proud that some of our courses are accredited by a professional body or organisation. These are typically available for students completing the full duration of the course and they may not be available for transfer students. If you have any queries, please contact the specific Programme team who will be able to provide more information.
I’m an existing University of Greenwich student and I want to transfer from Greenwich to another higher education provider
Current students wishing to transfer to another institution should see our guidance on Withdrawal and Interruption of Studies. This explains how to withdraw from your course and the implications for withdrawal.
You will need to contact the other institution directly to confirm if they would consider you for a place. You may need to supply your current academic results if so. See Certificates and Transcripts for guidance.
I’m an existing University of Greenwich student and I want to transfer to a different course at the University of Greenwich
If you are a current student, you will need to complete the University's Programme Change Form in order to request to change your course. Approval from both the Programme Leader of your current course and the Programme Leader of the course you wish to transfer to will be required.
Changing course can have implications for your tuition fees, your student support and your visa (if applicable). See Fees when changing courses for guidance. International students should also see our guidance on visa implications.
