How to apply Accommodation

Applying for accommodation

  1. Applicants can apply for a room in hall when an offer to study has been firmly accepted and their admission status confirmed.
  2. Applicants will need to log into the portal and go to student support tab / accommodation channel / applications and forms and follow the links to application form. If an applicant has not already been issued with portal login credentials, they should wait for an e-mail from the university providing them with these.
  3. Once an application is complete and has been submitted, an e-mail from the Accommodation Service will be sent to the applicant confirming that the application has been received. Applicants should check their e-mail address is correct when logging into the accommodation portal and contact the enquiry unit or Accommodation Service if there is any error.
  4. Applicants must keep a check on e-mails and junk folders and wait for an offer or further information and then follow the instructions in that e-mail.

Your offer of accommodation

Your offer of accommodation will be sent to you via e-mail. The offer will contain important information including details about the room selection process. In order to secure a room, you will be required to:

  • Select your preferred room
  • Accept the offer of a room
  • Complete a licence agreement and
  • Pay a deposit of £400

Full instructions will be provided with the offer and you should read the information carefully.

Once you have paid the deposit and formally accepted the offer, you will be sent an e-mail confirming your room and providing you with information about moving in.

If your application is unsuccessful, you will be advised of your options regarding waiting lists and accommodation in the private sector.

The deadline for completing these steps will be included with the offer. If your deadline date falls on a weekend, you are advised to accept the room before the deadline expires and pay the deposit on the next working day.

If you do not accept the room, submit the Accommodation Licence Agreement and pay the deposit, the offer will be automatically withdrawn.

Please note applications cannot be received from students who will be under 18 during the academic session. Those turning 18 after the last day of the academic session should contact the Accommodation Service for information about housing options.
