Employability support for Undergraduates at Greenwich Business School in the 2026/27 academic year

Aiming to join an undergraduate degree at Greenwich Business School in September 2026? If so, here’s how we help you prepare for - and stand out in - today’s job market.

At Greenwich Business School, employability support for undergraduates starts from day one. Employability isn’t an add-on here - it’s built into every undergraduate Business School degree through specialist modules and industry-informed teaching.

But that’s only one part of the story.

Beyond your course, you’ll also have - as an undergraduate - access to expert careers support from the Faculty Employer Engagement & Placement Team - and we strongly recommend you take full advantage of the great support and opportunities they can offer. This dedicated Business School team includes experienced careers professionals and former recruiters who understand exactly what employers are looking for.

Three students working and chatting

These are the people who can help you figure out your career goals, gain real-world experience, and make confident decisions about your future. You can expect opportunities for one-to-one careers support, hands-on workshops, career acceleration programmes, and employer-focused opportunities and events from them. Support is also available for CVs and applications (including expert guidance on using GenAI responsibly), LinkedIn profiles, interview preparation, and finding part-time work, internships, placements and graduate roles.

The Business School’s focus is firmly on the real world of work and the industries you’re interested in. We’re here to help you navigate the often-complex world of internships, placements and graduate jobs - from global organisations to start-ups and everything in between. And we’re good at it too. Recent successes include students securing offers from well-known employers such as PwC, Amazon, L’Oréal and NBC.

How Brennan landed her placement at Amazon

Brennan studied BA Business with Marketing and landed a placement on Amazon's EU Promotions team. She worked on Prime Day and Black Friday, travelled across Europe, and was named Greenwich Business School's placement student of the year.

What might this look like during your time at the Business School?

In Year 1, it’s all about exploration. You’ll be introduced to different career pathways through specialist content within your degree, co-delivered with our expert careers team, so you understand how recruitment in your chosen field really works, and start to build strong, high-quality applications.

In Year 2, the focus shifts to action. As internship and placement opportunities begin to open up, our employability experts can help you strengthen your applications, sharpen your interview skills, and start building that all-important professional network. Expect chances to hear from guest speakers, workplace visits and masterclasses - all designed to boost your confidence and skills and prepare you for opportunities that excite you.

You'll also have the chance - unless you've transferred degree and are starting your studies with us in Level 6 of a degree* - to take a placement year between Years 2 and 3 of a full‑time degree, spending a year working in industry before returning for their final year of study. This is a great opportunity to start your graduate career before you graduate, putting your learning into practice in a real workplace. There are no limits on where this might take you - our focus is on helping you find roles which align with your career ambitions.

In your final year, it’s all about what comes next. Here, our careers experts support you with graduate job applications, help you prepare for assessment centres and highlight opportunities to attend - as well as arrange - employer-led sessions, ensuring you leave university ready to take your next step with confidence.

And it all works.

One second‑year student who recently secured a placement said:

“The Greenwich Business School Employability Team provided outstanding preparation and coaching, offering insights and constant encouragement throughout my journey, which ultimately helped me secure a placement at L’Oréal.”

This is YOUR story and your future - and you take centre stage.

At Greenwich Business School, we’re with you every step of your journey.

PS. Join us and you’ll also have access to The Generator, Greenwich’s entrepreneurship and innovation hub. Whether you’re curious about starting your own business, developing an idea, or just want to build the sorts of entrepreneurial skills employers value, the Generator offers workshops, challenges and more…

Note: Our undergraduate degrees are made up of three levels of study: Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6, which usually correspond to Years 1, 2 and 3 of a full-time, three-year degree. Some people with previous university study may be able to start their studies at Greenwich at Level 5 or Level 6. If you start your studies with us at Level 5 or Level 6, rather than at Level 4, some of the opportunities mentioned in this email may not apply to you. For example, students who start their studies with us at Level 6 will not be able to undertake a placement year; students who start their studies with us at either Level 5 or Level 6 may not be eligible for any accreditation/s, where offered by a degree, as accreditation/s may require study across all three levels; and some topics, areas or opportunities mentioned above may relate only to modules, activities or opportunities offered at lower levels. If you have any questions about any of the above, please contact the University.)

We loved our work experience!

You’re more likely to attract potential employers if you have relevant work experience. At the Business School, many of our undergraduate degrees - and some of our postgraduate ones - offer a chance to undertake a placement year in industry.
